hello, world! [22 Dec 2009|04:42am]

In case anyone had wondered at my general online absence over the last 1.5 weeks, let's just say it may have involved some of this:

Eiffel Tower 1/?

Plenty of eating of sinful dishes like this:

And possibly not quite enough of this (I blame the cold):

[sneakily taken by my sister]

Things have finally wound down some, but it's still going to take me a while to catch up with everything, so please bear with me if I owe you e-mails and such and am slow to reply.

(Also, not a word about photo backlog, please. I'll just, erm, sit here and ignore the ever-increasing mountain of photos I still have yet to wade through.)

Daring Cooks: Salmon en Croute (December 2009) [14 Dec 2009|12:02am]

Midnight now, at last! And since I really need to be scooting off for Paris very, very soon-ish, I'll just post this now and keep this as short as possible (which seems rather impossible, given my natural tendency towards verbosity, but try I shall):

This month's Daring Cook's challenge was hosted by Simone of Junglefrog Cooking. (Thank you, Simone!) We were offered a recipe choice of either salmon en croute or beef wellington, and I went with the former because a) I adore fish, and b) I really dislike beef. << is a picky eater, why yes she is indeed

Blog-checking lines: The 2009 Daring Cooks challenge was hosted by Simone of Junglefrog Cooking. Simone chose Salmon en Croute (or alternative recipes for Beef Wellington or Vegetable en Croute) from Good Food Online.
